Moneycontrol beats Economic Times eighth month in a row, No. 1 in business news on Comscore

Moneycontrol has extended its winning streak over The Economic Times for 8 straight months, topping digital rating agency Comscore’s rankings for business and finance news in India once again across all digital metrics—unique visitors, page views, and time spent- in April 2025.

Moneycontrol has cemented its position as India’s leading business, markets, and finance news platform in April 2025, beating The Economic Times, for the eight consecutive month across all digital metrics, as per data released by global digital audience measurement agency Comscore.

Moneycontrol’s platform received the highest number of Unique Visitors in Indian business news  with 43.93 million users in April 2025, compared to The Economic Times with 39.89 million unique visitors, according to the Comscore India MMX data, which includes readership for mobile, desktop, app and social traffic.

According to Comscore, Moneycontrol also comprehensively trounced The Economic Times across all key digital metrics in April. Moneycontrol registered 298.76 million page views in April, nearly double of ET’s 159.33 million.

On time spent, readers spent 347.19 million minutes on Moneycontrol in April, significantly more than the 197 million minutes logged on ET, as per Comscore.

“The fact that this is the eighth straight month in which Moneycontrol has comprehensively trounced ET on all digital readership metrics on Comscore ratings, underscores the platform’s undisputed dominance of India’s business, markets and finance and news genre,” said Nalin Mehta, Managing Editor, Moneycontrol. “Our continued leadership reaffirms the deep trust our readers have reposed in us for reliable markets news and business intelligence and we are striving to further increase the value we provide to our readers for making more informed investment decisions.”

Moneycontrol Pro, the platform’s subscription offering, crossed 1 million paying subscribers in October 2024, establishing itself as India’s largest news subscription platform and emerging among the top 15 worldwide.
