NSE warns against fake videos of CEO Ashishkumar Chauhan suggesting stocks

NSE warned that investors should not follow any investment advices coming from fake videos and audio as NSE employees are not authorised to give any stock recommendations.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has warned investors that fake videos using CEO and MD Ashishkumar Chauhan’s face and voice is circulating in the internet. In the press release issued on April 10, the stock exchange urged caution against such videos and asked investors to check with the official communication channels to verify any information.

“We have observed the use of face/ voice of Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD and CEO, NSE, and NSE logo in a few investment and advisory audio and video clips falsely created using technology,” said the bourse in the release.

The NSE warned that investors should not follow any investment advices coming from fake videos and audios as NSE employees are not authorised to give any stock recommendations. It also added that it is making efforts to remove the objectionable videos from different platforms.

“As per NSE’s process, any official communication is made only through its official website www.nseindia.com, and the Exchange’s social media handles,” it said.
