The shares of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) dropped over 1 percent on April 24 after a massive fire broke out at the premises of its Bhopal unit. Notably, the company's Bhopal plant is among the oldest heavy electrical equipment manufacturing plants in the country.
Visuals which surfaced on social media showed massive smoke coming out the premises. Reports said that the production is likely to be impacted at the plant, which pushed the shares down to Rs 227 apiece. Fire fighting operations are currently underway at the plant. The cause of the fire is yet to be known.

No injuries have been reported at the area, and the fire has now been bought under control, according to an official cited by PTI.
