Bharti Airtel’s enterprise arm has partnered with US-based Swift Navigation to launch the Airtel-Skylark™ Precise Positioning Service in India, providing centimetre-level location accuracy using AI/ML-powered cloud technology.
The service integrates Swift Navigation’s Skylark platform with Airtel’s 4G and 5G networks and will initially cover 35,000 sq km across the National Capital Region before being expanded nationwide in phases.
According to the company, the technology has applications across sectors including automotive, logistics, railways, agriculture, and consumer mobility apps. Potential uses range from enabling advanced driver-assistance systems and autonomous vehicles, to powering smart tolling, precision farming, and accurate navigation for delivery fleets and drones.
Sharat Sinha, Director & CEO of Airtel Business, said the partnership would “revolutionise emergency responses and set new benchmarks for industrial applications.” Swift Navigation’s EVP of Product & Marketing, Holger Ippach, said the collaboration would accelerate adoption of precise positioning for automation and autonomy.
Airtel said the service will be showcased at the India Mobile Congress from October 8–11, 2025.
