The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday conducted raids at multiple locations linked to Ease My Trip in connection with the Mahadev Betting App case, CNBC TV18 reported citing sources.
The stock of the online travel platform fell over 7% to Rs 12.4 following reports of action by the investigation agency.
The channel reported told that the raids are currently underway at 15 locations, including Delhi, Mumbai, Gurugram, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Indore, Jaipur, Chennai, and Sambalpur.
The central agency is also conducting searches at premises of Nishant Pitti, founder and chairman of the online travel booking platform.
Meanwhile, Ease My Trip spokesperson said that it has no association with Mahadev Betting App and will cooperate in the investigation.
“As per information available in the public domain, the ED conducted searches at over 50 locations of various persons/ corporates. Amongst them one was EaseMyTrip premises. While EaseMyTrip has no direct or indirect association with the Mahadev Betting App or any other betting platform, we remain fully committed to cooperating with the authorities throughout the course of the investigation," said a EaseMyTrip spokesperson.
Last month, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) also conducted searches at the residence of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in relation to this case.
The Mahadev Betting App case stems from an FIR alleging illegal gambling and cyber fraud worth Rs 15,000 crore against 32 individuals, including the app's "promoter" Saurabh Chandrakar, Ravi Uppal, Shubham Soni, and others.
