Edelweiss AMC halves data warehousing costs by partnering with Snowflake AI Data Cloud

Edelweiss Asset Management Company (Edelweiss AMC) on September 18 announced that it had overhauled its data infrastructure using Snowflake AI Data Cloud, cutting data warehousing spend by nearly 50 percent while improving operational efficiencies and accelerating reporting and analytics across its business.

The fund house, among the fastest-growing in India, said the move has streamlined compliance, reduced reporting delays, and enhanced operational agility. Partnering with Snowflake, Edelweiss AMC migrated from fragmented legacy systems to a single, cloud-native platform, allowing faster handling of large data volumes and complex workloads.

Consequently, the End-of-Day (EOD) processing has been reduced significantly to under 2 hours from 8 hours, and management information system (MIS) reports are now available 5 hours before business hours. Beginning-of-day processing has also improved, speeding up availability of financial and risk data, Edelweiss said.

The company added that Snowflake’s pay-as-you-use pricing and separation of compute from storage were central to cutting costs. The company has reduced the data warehousing spending by 50 percent by optimizing cloud storage costs and paying only for the exact consumed computing resources.
