The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT-K) saw 891 full-time offers, including pre-placement offers (PPOs), extended to 818 students at the close of the eighth day of the ongoing placement season. Around 21 students have been offered international job offers from various companies, the institute said in a statement. Industry giants such as Microsoft, Fujitsu, Samsung, Reliance, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Deutsche Bank, Tata Projects, Navi, Uniorbit, ICICI Bank, EXL, NPCL, Intel, TSMC, and others have emerged as top recruiters.

“IIT Kanpur has consistently maintained an impressive track record in terms of placement success. I congratulate all the students who have received placements so far and extend my best wishes to those appearing for placements. I also want to thank the dedicated placement cell at IIT Kanpur that plays a pivotal role in ensuring that students are well-prepared for interviews and industry challenges,” said Professor S Ganesh, Director of IIT Kanpur.
Meanwhile, phase one of the placement season at IIT Bombay started on December 1. More than 350 companies are expected to participate in the placement season, which will continue till December 15.
The first day of placements had around 40 companies interviewing in two slots. Compared to last year, 80 percent of the regular recruiters participated.
IIT Guwahati campus placements for the 2023-24 Academic Year also began on December 1 with a total of 164 offers made by 59 companies during Day one’s sessions.
In addition, IIT Guwahati students have received as many as 214 Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) during the Academic Year 2023-24. Most of the offers were in the sectors of Core Engineering, and Finance profiles, the institute said in a statement.
