IBA appoints Central Bank of India MD M V Rao as Chairman

MV Rao, MD & CEO of Central Bank of India, will replace Atul Goel, MD & CEO of Punjab National Bank, as the chairman of the IBA

The Indian Banks' Association (IBA) on March 21 appointed MV Rao, CEO and MD of Central Bank of India, as the Chairman for 2023-24. Rao will replace Atul Goel, MD & CEO of Punjab National Bank, as the chairman.

IBA is an industry lobby of Indian banks.

The association, in a press release, said that Dinesh Khara, Chairman of SBI, will continue to be one of the three deputy chairmen. SL Jain, MD & CEO of Indian Bank and N Kamakodi, MD & CEO of City Union Bank, will be the other two deputy chairmen.

Madhav Nair, Country Head & CEO of Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, who was a deputy chairman earlier will now be the honorary secretary of the association.
