Foxconn is embarking on an ambitious project to build the largest Nvidia GB200 chip manufacturing facility. This move aims to meet the soaring demand for Nvidia’s Blackwell platform. A senior executive announced this development during the company's annual tech day in Taipei.
Benjamin Ting, Foxconn's senior vice president, highlighted the significance of the partnership with Nvidia. “We are constructing the largest GB200 production facility in the world," he noted, though he could not disclose its location.
Ting emphasised the overwhelming demand for Nvidia’s Blackwell platform. “The demand is awfully huge," he remarked, alongside Nvidia's vice president for AI and robotics, Deepu Talla.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang attended last year's event. However, Talla mentioned that Huang wished to be present this year but was unable to attend.
Foxconn, renowned as the largest contract electronics manufacturer, is also Apple’s primary iPhone assembler. The company is currently benefiting from the booming artificial intelligence market, as it produces servers in addition to its other products.
