FICCI biz delegation to accompany Jaitley on US visit

The delegation will be a part of the official engagements of the minister in the US, Ficci said in a statement. Jaitley will embark for the visit on Tuesday during which he will meet US Treasury Secretary, foreign institutional investors and industry leaders.

    A delegation of industry body FICCI, headed by its President Jyotsna Suri, will accompany Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on his 10-day visit to the US.

    The delegation will be a part of the official engagements of the minister in the US, FICCI said in a statement. Jaitley will embark tonight on the visit during which he will meet US Treasury Secretary, foreign institutional investors and industry leaders.

    The delegation, which comprises eight past presidents and senior business leaders, will travel to New York and Washington DC along with the minister to highlight India's positive investment climate and economic outlook.

    Several business leaders will also join Jaitley in his interactions with officials of the New York Stock Exchange, foreign institutional investors, think-tanks and business schools, it said. The Finance Minister will ring the closing bell at New York Stock Exchange, it added.

    In Washington, the delegation is scheduled to meet American industry leaders and attend a round-table discussion with investors from the Indian-American community.

    The delegation members include Y Onkar S Kanwar, Chairman, Apollo Tyres Ltd; Saroj Kumar Poddar Chairman, Adventz Group; Harsh Pati Singhania, Managing Director, JK Paper Ltd; Rajan Bharti Mittal, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Bharti Enterprises Ltd; Naina Lal Kidwai, Country Head - India & Director - Asia Pacific, HSBC Ltd and Atul Punj, Chairman, Punj Lloyd Group
