DRDO said the aim is to nurture MSMEs and start-ups in defence and aerospace sectors.
Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) has awarded seven new projects under the Technology Development Fund scheme relating to aerospace & defence sectors.
One of the projects has been sanctioned to Chennai-based Data Pattern (India), to develop a Radar Signal Processor, sending the shares higher by over 6 percent at around 1pm.
- A project to develop an indigenous toolkit for simulator training of pilots has been awarded to Oxygen 2 Innovation, a Noida-based startup.
- A project relating to marine battlefield accessories has been awarded to Sagar Defence Engineering Pvt Ltd Pune.
- A long-range Remotely Operated Vehicle to Detect & Neutralise underwater objects will be developed by IROV Technologies Pvt Limited, Kochi, another startup.
- A project to develop detection of icing condition on aircraft's external surfaces has been awarded to Craftlogic Labs, Bengaluru.
- Data Pattern will develop a project to test, evaluate short range aerial weapon system.
- Accord Software, Bengaluru will enable indigenisation of timing acquisition and dissemination system.
- The startup Alohatech Private, Coimbatore has been sanctioned a project to develop yarn and fabric-making processes using graphene nanomaterials.
The Technology Development Fund (TDF) has been set up to promote self-reliance in defence production for the Tri-Services, Defence Production as well as DRDO.
