PTC Industries Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to jointly work on raw materials, components and spares for aircraft and helicopters, in a push for self-reliance.
The two sides will share expertise and capabilities in the aerospace sector, with a focus on indigenising spares, components, shop-replaceable units (SRUs) and shop-replaceable units, PTC Industries said on a release.
PTC Industries and the accessories division of HAL, a defence ministry undertaking, will collaborate on adapting aviation-grade raw materials (titanium and nickel base super alloys, special steels), components, spares, sub-assemblies, and LRUs.
The goal is to make India Atam Nirbhar in the sector.
HAL's accessories division in Lucknow was formed in 1970 to manufacture equipment and accessories for aircraft, helicopters, UAVs and engines.

The MoU seeks to create a synergy between HAL, Lucknow, and PTC Industries Limited to locally produce critical components.
PTC Industries is extending its aerospace castings capabilities with a multi-million-dollar investment in a new manufacturing facility in Lucknow.
This vertically integrated factory will produce aerospace-grade titanium and superalloy ingots, billets, bars, plates, and sheets, it said.
The PTC Industries stock closed at Rs 8,615 on the National Stock Exchange, down 3.28 percent.
