GirnarSoft buys majority stake in Advanced Structures India

GirnarSoft, which owns auto portals CarDekho.com, Gaadi.com and Zigwheels.com, has acquired a majority stake in car testing and benchmarking firm Advanced Structures India (ASI) for an undisclosed amount.

Girnarsoft will leverage ASI's expertise in testing and measurement to significantly improve car search experience on its portfolio of auto sites that will objectively showcase metrics and scores, the company said in a statement.

The company, however, did not disclose financial details.

GirnarSoft Co-founder and CEO Amit Jain said providing the best car search experience to users which requires objective and authoritative assessment of cars and bikes.

"For instance, today there are just Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) tested numbers on mileage and everyone quotes mileage numbers based on standard track conditions. ASI has better tools to test the car on actual Indian roads for mileage and all other key parameters important for customers," he added.

This deal will add a new layer of capability to CarDekho's existing tools for car reviews, he said.

ASI Co-founder Vaibhav Kumar said joining GirnarSoft will allow the company to integrate its existing technical framework and develop a repository of credible reviews for users.

ASI is GirnarSoft's sixth deal in the past two years.

Earlier it acquired Help on Wheels, Drishya360, Zigwheels, Gaadi.com and BuyingIQ.

The company has also incubated and invested in CollegeDekho.com.
