Healthcare major Apollo Hospitals is planning to add 1,000 beds per year in the next five years across the country and overseas as part of its expansion plans.

"Our target is to add 1,000 beds per year in next five years in our existing and new hospitals. This year we will be opening super speciality hospitals at Navi Mumbai and Vizag," Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Executive Vice Chairperson Preetha Reddy told PTI.

The company is looking at both organic and inorganic routes for future expansion, she added. Reddy was speaking on the sidelines of the National Leadership Conclave organised by All India Management Association (AIMA).

When asked about the geographies the company is looking at for growth, Reddy said, "It will be both in India and outside." However, she did not name the countries where the healthcare provider is mulling expansion.

Reddy further said, "We are there in every space in the healthcare chain. We are present from tertiary care hospitals to primary clinics. From medical education to standalone pharmacies we are there."
