DB Corp launches paper in Dhanbad, Maharashtra foray in Q1

DB Corp has completed its foray in Jharkhand with the launch of the Dainik Bhaskar Hindi newspaper edition in Dhanbad, and is on track to launch its Marathi newspaper in Aurangabad, Maharashtra in the current quarter.

DB Corp has completed its foray in Jharkhand with the launch of the Dainik Bhaskar Hindi newspaper edition in Dhanbad, and is on track to launch its Marathi newspaper in Aurangabad, Maharashtra in the current quarter.

DB Corp had forayed into Jharkhand in 2010 with the launch of Dainik Bhaskar in Ranchi in August and Jamshedpur in December.

The company said it launched the Dhanbad edition on Sunday and will launch the paper in region surrounding Dhanbad shortly.

Meanwhile, DB Corp, which also publishes Gujarati newspaper Divya Bhaskar and English newspaper DNA, is on track to enter Maharashtra and launch its maiden Marathi language newspaper Divya Marathi in Aurangabad in the current quarter (April-June).

The company is currently doing a survey for booking of copies and has received an "encouraging response" in Aurangabad, DB Corp said.

At 13:30 hrs, DB Corp shares were traded at Rs 252.50, up 1.1% on National Stock Exchange.
