The Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council today said information and communication technology (ICT) export for the current fiscal is projected at 15% at USD 75 billion.

"In 2010-11, export of software and electronic hardware from India was USD 65.28 billion and in the current fiscal USD 75 billion," Council Chairman S Radhakrishnan said here today.

Software and services export would be USD 64 billion, growing at 10% and electronics hardware would grow by 30% to USD 10 billion in the current fiscal, he said.

Radhakrishnan said in the first four months of the current fiscal, April-July, ICT exports was USD 21 billion, up by just 10% over the corresponding period last year when it registered export of USD 19 billion.

Electronics hardware export in the first four months grew by 48% to USD 3.72 billion over the last year same period.

Radhakrishnan said downgrading of US credit rating would not have any impact on the Indian IT industry as US government's share in outsourcing was negligible.

The council was targeting new markets and planning to set up two more incubation centres in France and Australia to keep the growth momentum of ICT export.
