Bollywood actor Salman Khan sure does things differently and in style. Unlike brands who establish themselves in the domestic market before going overseas, Salman Khan's 'Being Human' brand, which retails apparel and fashion accessories to support the initiatives of the actor's Being Human Charity Foundation, has come to India after enjoying runaway success in Europe and the Middle East.

This is the first 'Being Human' flagship store was launched today on Mumbai's Linking Road. The 4,000 square feet store is in addition to the four other exclusive outlets set up in the country. Mumbai-based Mandhana Industries has been appointed the sole worldwide licensee for the design, manufacturing, retailing and distribution of the fashion line. Mandhana has invested Rs 60 crore in this project so far and will be investing another Rs 60 crore in FY14.

Eight more Being Human stores will be launched in India by March 2013. The store count by March FY14 would be 50. Mandhana Industries, which closed FY12 with revenues of Rs 980 crore, expects the 'Being Human' fashion business to break even in FY14 and contribute Rs 250 crore to sales.
