NTPC generation capacity increases to 39,674 MW

Country's largest power producer NTPC today said its generation capacity has increased to 39,674 MW, with the commissioning of another 500 MW unit at its joint venture plant in Haryana.

Country's largest power producer NTPC today said its generation capacity has increased to 39,674 MW, with the commissioning of another 500 MW unit at its joint venture plant in Haryana.
    
The third unit of 500 MW has been commissioned at the Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Project. The plant is run by Aravali Power Company - a joint venture of NTPC, Haryana Power Generation Corp and Indraprastha Power Generation Corp.

The plant is located in Jhajjar, Haryana.
    
"With this, the total capacity of NTPC group has become 39,674 MW," it said in a filing to the BSE.
    
Following the commissioning of another 500 MW, the total generation capacity of the Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Project has increased to 1,500 MW.
    
The company aims to have an installed capacity of 1,28,000 MW by 2032.
    
NTPC has 16 coal-fired projects and seven gas/liquid fuel-based plants, besides seven joint venture/subsidiary power stations.
