Nasscom believes the Indian IT industry will do "exceedingly well" in 2013-14. The IT industry body expects to meet its earlier projected estimate of 11-14 percent growth in the country’s software exports in the current financial year at the lower-end.

It says the sector, which crossed USD 100 billion mark last year, will clock at least double-digit growth this year.

Earlier, Nasscom said its vision for the Indian product landscape is to help make India the hub of the world's most successful software products through multiple initiatives of market development. Addressing the ninth edition of product conclave, Nasscom President Som Mittal also said the product landscape has leapfrogged in India over the years.

"And in an effort to pursue this vision, Nasscom is making representations with governments across levels, recommending them to set up an entrepreneurship mission, change in procurement guidelines and access to funding," he said.

Officials said the time for the Indian product story is ripe as the country's IT industry moves beyond its leadership in the services sector towards IP and products.

The 'NASSCOM AWSME India Survey 2012' released at the event said technology and software providers are considerably interested in the Indian SME market because of the immense rise in numbers and growth potential of this category.
