Toyota Kirloskar, a joint venture between Toyota Motor Corp and Kirloskar group, said its operations have not been affected after a massive earthquake and tsunami struck the northeast coast of Japan.
"We wish to advise that most of the plants of Toyota Motor Corp are not affected at this point in time. We are, however, assessing the extent of damage to operations of our affiliates, dealer partners and supplier partners located in the affected areas," Hiroshi Nakagawa, managing director of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said in a statement dated March 12.
All Toyota Kirloskar employees working in Toyota Motor Corp Japan are currently safe, he said.
Toyota Motor, the world's largest automaker, has halted production at all 12 of its domestic factories in Japan and has not been able to inspect those in the affected area.
