Silver extended its record rally to hit fresh lifetime highs on October 8. Silver futures with December expiry on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) hit an all-time high level of Rs 1,48,724 per kilogram today.
The future contracts with March and May expiry also hit lifetime highs of Rs 1,50,229 per kg and Rs 1,52,274 per kg respectively.

Gold hits all-time highs:
Gold futures also hit fresh all time high levels on October 8. This comes as uncertainties over the US government shutdown, inflation and other concerns polished the safe-haven appeal of the precious metal.
Gold futures on Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) with December expiry hit an all-time high level of Rs 1,22,780 per 10 grams today. The future contracts with February and April expiry also hit lifetime highs of Rs 1,24,045 per 10 grams and Rs 1,25,510 per 10 grams respectively.
