Gold rates in India today (October 13, 2025): Gold's stunning rally continues, with the festive season driving demand for physical gold across major cities in the country. Monday began with a marginal correction of Re 1 in the price of the precious metal across all three categories. According to data published by gold rate tracking site Good Returns, the prices of 18K, 22K, and 24K gold in India today are:
10 Gram Gold Price (October 13, 2025)
| Gold Type | Price per 10g (Rs) |
| 24K Gold | Rs 125,070 |
| 22K Gold | Rs 114,640 |
| 18K Gold | Rs 93,800 |
Traditionally, investors have turned to gold as a shield against economic instability and inflation, and this year is a textbook example of that behaviour. In the US, inflation has been on the higher side for four years in a row. The current levels are well above the two percent target set by the US Federal Reserve. To add to this chaos, tariff volatility has also spooked investors.
What makes gold an attractive investment option is that the value of the yellow metal is not linked to any single economy or government decision. Gold behaves differently compared with bonds and stocks.
India has always favoured gold over most other investment options, and the festive season has further fuelled the demand for physical gold.

The two-model GST structure on gold in India works as follows:
1. GST on Gold Value
A flat 3% GST is levied on the value of gold, whether in the form of bars, coins, or jewellery.
This 3% comprises 1.5% CGST (Central GST) and 1.5% SGST (State GST).
The GST rate on gold is the same for 24k, 22k, and 18k gold-purity does not change the tax rate.
2. GST on Making Charges
In addition to the 3% GST on gold value, a 5% GST is charged on the jewellery-making (labour) charges.
Making charges are treated as a service and taxed separately from the gold itself.
