Maharashtra lowers petrol, diesel prices for the Mumbai region: Check details

The decision to cut fuel prices for the Mumbai region comes along with waiver of electricity bills for 44 lakh Maharashtra farmers and a promise of three free LPG cylinders every year to poor families.

Maharastra has lowered fuel prices in Mumbai

Maharashtra has lowered fuel prices in the Mumbai region by Rs 2 per litre for diesel and by 65 paise per litre for petrol, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar announced while presenting the state Budget on June 28.

Deputy CM Ajit Pawar said, "Tax on diesel is being decreased from 24% to 21 % for Mumbai region, effectively 2 rupees per litre less prices of diesel. In Mumbai region, tax on Petrol being decreased from 26% to 25% which will effectively decrease rates of petrol by 65 Paise per litre." Diesel and petrol will now be cheaper in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane region of Maharashtra.

The measure announced in the State Budget comes along with a waiver electricity bills for 44 lakh farmers and a promise of three free LPG cylinders every year to poor families. Check other highlights right here.

Maharashtra is heading towards elections later this year to elect its state legislative assembly, though the final dates have not been announced yet.
