BSE Institute now offers two-year Masters program in Fintech

Starting today, the two-year program will enable students to have a good understanding of finance, accounting, business information systems and analytic methods.

In a first in India, BSE Institute, the learning solutions arm of Asia’s oldest bourse Bombay Stock Exchange, has launched a Masters program in Financial Technology in association with University of Mumbai with an aim to prepare skilled talent for the booming FinTech industry.

Starting today, the two-year program will enable students to have a good understanding of finance, accounting, business information systems and analytic methods.

Ambarish Datta, MD & CEO of BSE Institute, told Moneycontrol, "This year we announced masters in fintech which is also a first in the country. Given that the industry is large and with country's focus on digital payments and also customers moving towards digital payments we think this is an opportunity to have skilled and professional people in the fintech space."

It has focused program modules on blockchain, crypto currency, algorithm training, cyber security, technology, robo advisory and systematic training, he said.

It further includes Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Bots, Internet of Things and Big Data to stay relevant in the competition.

The four semester program with a fee of Rs. 6.91 lakh, will have market practitioners to give students on-the-job training.

Datta said, "The idea is to train students to make them ready to work in the industry...This is a first time we are making hybrid training between finance and engineering domain. We plan to tap the technology that we have as well."

At present, BSE is the world's fatest in trading speed of 6 microsecond with 4 million transactions a day.

BSE runs close to 150 courses every year including short term courses and seven long term programs training almost 10,000 students every year.

Our offerings range from 1-day to 2 year master level programs, Datta said.

The Institute also has five international training programs with multiple university partners across the likes of UK, USA and Australia.

The FinTech program has started off with 120 seats with the first batch starting today.

The Institute facilitates Internship at companies including the likes of Axis Bank, Aditya Birla Nuvo Ltd,Ashok Leyland, Angel Broking, Anand Rathi Share & Stock Brokers and Asit C Mehta Financial services.
