BMW launches all-new electric scooter CE 02 in India starting at Rs 4.49 lakh

The carmaker said the new electric mobility solution has been created for the city and urban environment, a company statement said

Global automobile major BMW on October 1 launched the all-new BMW CE 02 in India with an introductory ex-showroom price of starting from Rs 4,49,900.

The carmaker said the new electric mobility solution has been created for the city and urban environment, a company statement said.

The newly launched product comes with a progressive design and has a new and youthful proportions.

In terms of performance, it has a maximum power of 11 kW, maximum torque of 55 Nm, and reaches 0-50 km/hour in just 3 seconds, the statement said. The scooter is powered by a 3.9 kWh, Air-cooled lithium-ion battery.

This all-electric model is available at BMW Motorrad India dealerships from October 1 onwards. The BMW CE 02 has been developed in Munich, Germany by BMW Motorrad and will be produced in Hosur, India by cooperation partner TVS Motor Company, the statement added.

Vikram Pawah, President and CEO, BMW Group India said, “The all-new BMW CE 02 breaks all the rules. Thanks to the electric drive, trend-setting design and innovative solutions, it is a dynamic partner for a new kind of mobility.”

In July, BMW Motorrad had introduced its latest innovation, the CE 04 electric scooter, to the Indian market with a starting price of Rs 14.9 lakh. The scooter has two distinct color concepts, including the Imperial Blue Metallic Avantgarde.

The BMW CE 04 is equipped with a permanent-magnet liquid-cooled synchronous motor, delivering a maximum power of 42 hp at 4,900 rpm and a peak torque of 45.7 lb-ft at 1,500 rpm.
