Bengaluru Metro's Green Line services between Yeswantpur and Mantri Square Sampige Road stations were suspended on October 3, causing inconvenience for passengers.

At 5:28 am on October 3, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), posted on X (formerly Twitter): "Namma Metro commuters, please note that train services on the Green Line will be available between Nagasandra to Yeshwantpur and Mantri Square to Sampige Road Metro stations due to a technical snag at Rajajinagar Metro Station. We regret the inconvenience caused."

BMRCL chief public relations officer BL Yashwanth Chavan told Moneycontrol that an emergency recovery road-rail vehicle broke down between Rajajinagar and Mahakavi Kuvempu Road Metro stations, affecting train services.

Emergency recovery road-rail vehicles are used for recovering damaged trains and performing maintenance work.

"Efforts are underway to remove the vehicle and restore train services. We are now carrying out single-line operations with reduced frequency on the affected section. Operations on other sections of the Green Line and the Purple Line ( Byappanahalli-Kengeri and Whitefield-KR Pura) are normal." he said.

Many passengers at Yeswantpur railway station and other locations who returned after the long weekend ( Eid e Milad on September 28,  Karnataka bandh on September 29, followed by Saturday and Sunday, and Gandhi Jayanti on October 2) faced severe inconvenience. Green Line stations, including Yeswantpur, witnessed heavy crowding due to the disruption of services.

Keerti Joshi, a Metro passenger who boarded the train from Mahalakshmi station to Nagasandra, said, "Trains were moving at a snail's pace, and there was a huge rush inside. Because of the heavy crowd, many people couldn't board the train. Other sections of the Green Line seem to be affected by this."

Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation officials said they deployed additional buses between Yeswantpur Metro/railway station and Majestic due to disruption of Metro services on the Green Line.
