Adani Enterprises on August 4 denied a Bloomberg report suggesting a tie-up between the Adani Group and Chinese companies BYD and Beijing Welion New Energy Technology. The firm said the report is "baseless, inaccurate and misleading".
"We categorically deny Bloomberg's report on 4th August 2025 suggesting a tie-up between the Adani Group and Chinese companies BYD and Beijing Welion New Energy Technology. This report is baseless, inaccurate and misleading," said Adani Enterprises in a stock exchange filing.
"The Adani Group is not exploring any form of collaboration with BYD for battery manufacturing in India. Similarly, we are not engaged in any discussions with Beijing Welion New Energy Technology for a partnership of any kind," the Adani Group's flagship firm added.
The report said that Adani Group is in talks with BYD for a strategic tie-up to boost battery manufacturing and energy storage capabilities and that the deal, if finalised, could involve a joint venture or technology partnership focused on gigafactories and advanced cell production.
BYD, one of the world's largest battery and EV makers, brings cutting-edge LFP and blade battery technology to the table.
The partnership would align with Adani's renewable energy and electricity mobile expansion, but is likely to undergo government review before approval, the report said.
