Union Minister Nitin Gadkari credits PM Modi and BJP leadership for leads in key states, says people's support for BJP's schemes evident in results, pledges swift developmet with double-engine government assured.

Rumblings in INDIA alliance as Trinamool slams the Congress party for its performance. Trinamool says it is not the BJP’s win but the Congress’ failure. The comment comes a few hours after Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge called a meeting of the 28-party alliance on December 6.

Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) says the Congress failed to take alliance partners along and has a negative attitude going into the elections.

"It’s a big victory for PM Modi's trust that people of India have. People of India have clearly demonstrated once again that they have full faith and confidence in PM Modi's programmes, his words and his guarantees," says Union minister Piyush Goyal.

The party used the template of welfare measures, consisting largely of targeted doles. He sold his gender-specific schemes, notably the recent “Ladli Behna”, as the star of his governance. He was able to capture the women's vote as they seem to have voted for the BJP in large numbers.

MP is one of the RSS’s original work stations, focussed as it was on the Adivasi belts. A robust organisation, fortified by the structures the BJP set up at the grassroots, formed the base of its success. On behalf of traders across the country, Mr. Praveen Khandelwal, Secretary General of Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), termed BJP's victory in the assembly election results today as "Brand Modi" and said that this is a rehearsal for 2024.

Chief Minister Shivraj SIngh Chouhan is at the BJP state headquarters in Bhopal and party workers are celebrating the impending victory at the state elections.

The Union minister for agriculture Narendra Singh Tomar has been fielded from the Dimani constituency against Congress’ Ravindra Singh Tomar despite his initial reluctance. Last heard, he was leading his nearest rival Prahdlad Singh Patel: A prominent OBC leader, the Union minister of state for food processing is a candidate from Narsinghpur, replacing his brother Jalam Singh Patel.

The BJP’s gamble fielding MPs and Union ministers seems to have paid off in Madhya Pradesh with the BJP leading in 160 seats in the 230-member assembly. The central leadership’s experimental move was aimed at strengthening the organisational muscle, encourage new state-level leadership, and counter anti-incumbency.

Chouhan also reduced the minimum age required for availing of benefits under the Ladli Bahna scheme from 23 to 21. The number of beneficiaries has now touched 13.2 million across the state

The state’s 2023 budget stood out for the Rs 8,000-crore Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana. Soon after, Chouhan launched the scheme and called it a milestone towards women’s empowerment. Some 12 million women were to receive Rs 1,000 a month, which would progressively be raised to Rs 3,000, under the welfare scheme. “This scheme has been started with Rs 1,000 per month, but I will not give only one thousand. The amount will increase gradually,” he said. “I will increase it to Rs 1,200 per month and Rs 1,500 per month. As soon as the money is arranged in the coming year, I will increase it to Rs 3,000 per month.”

As the BJP looks to romp home with a sweeping majority in Madhya Pradesh, overcoming a 20-year anti-incumbency, rising unemployment, and inflation, the government’s strategy to turn the lens on women voters with sharply focussed welfare programmes seem to have paid off. There are 5.6 crore voters in Madhya Pradesh, of which 2.7 crore are women. In 29 of the 230 Assembly constituencies, which amounts to 12 percent, women outnumber men voters.

"It's a massive victory for BJP (in Madhya Pradesh). People's faith on BJP reflects in today's results," Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw as trends suggest comfortable majority for BJP in Madhya Pradesh.

As early trends show BJP galloping ahead in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, and in a close contest with the Congress in Chhattisgarh, the Congress has called an INDIA alliance meeting on December 6. According to news agency ANI, the party’s national president Mallikarjun Kharge dialled alliance partners for a meeting in the national capital.

PM Modi proves to be the national emblem across states, these elections have shown that BJP has a wide spectrum of leadership."

Welfarism has failed to help three of the incumbents come back to power. In Telangana, KCR had a big bouquet of schemes targeting everyone from farmers to Dalits to women, in Chattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel had the most generous schemes for farmers, and in Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot was synonymous with sops like subsidised cylinders, health insurance, and more.

The BJP and Shivraj Singh Chouhan may be rewriting record books in Madhya Pradesh. If the leads hold, the BJP is headed for a record tally in a landslide win.
The man of the moment is 64-year-old Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who was not named the CM candidate fearing voter fatigue but as the results show, he remains popular. The BJP's 'Ladli Behna' scheme seems to be paying off for the party, with Chouhan leading in early trends on December 3.

The saffron party has been in power in Madhya Pradesh since 2003 – except for a 15-month period – and Chouhan first took over as chief minister in November 2005. He could be the chief minister for a record fifth time. Chouhan has remained undefeated in his Budhni assembly seat. The chief minister has consistently garnered 60 percent or more votes since 2006. As third round of votes were being counted, Chouhan was ahead of his rivals again.

In Madhya Pradesh, it is a 10 percentage point lead for the BJP while the party is leading by less than one percentage point in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. In Telangana, the Congress is leading by 2.5 percentage points against the BRS.

The second round of voting is about to be completed for most constituencies in Madhya Pradesh. The BJP and Shivraj Singh Chouhan are on track to a resounding win in the state.

If BJP's lead holds, the election mandate will mean that the Congress party's promise of a caste census has failed to impress voters in the Madhya Pradesh Elections 2023.

The BJP has now taken lead in 152 seats and stands a good chance to cross its tally of 165, which the party achieved in the 2013 Madhya Pradesh elections.
