"The modern peplum has evolved to be more wearable," explains Dhanuka. "It's not about stiff structures anymore. Instead, it's about fluidity and ease." "Designers are revisiting strong, dramatic silhouettes from the past," notes Samiha Jha, director and founder of Sammyukk. "The peplum is one of those silhouettes that's being reimagined for a modern audience. Gen Z and millennials are embracing pieces that combine shape with softness, and the peplum is a perfect example of this balance."

This revival is also linked to a growing trend of inclusivity in fashion. The peplum trend's hourglass-enhancing properties flatter a wide range of body types—making it accessible for all. Whether worn as part of a power blazer, festive kurta, or modern blouse, the peplum speaks to a sense of elegance that transcends cultural and size boundaries.

Jha points out, "The peplum is a timeless detail that works across different fashion genres—whether it's in Western tops or traditional Indian garments. Its ability to provide both polish and playfulness is why it's thriving in 2025."
