Sonam Kapoor, one of Bollywood’s most celebrated fashionistas, has long been associated with designer Rohit Bal, who passed away in November last year. Recently, she walked the ramp to pay homage to the fashion legend in a creation he designed for her 15 years ago.
Sonam’s flowing ivory maxi gown was paired with a nature-inspired jacket in multiple hues, adorned with peacock motifs. The jacket added an opulent touch to her dress, making it look larger than life. She styled her hair in a bun decorated with fresh roses and completed the look with a bold red lip. Her jewellery carried a traditional yet contemporary sophistication.
While walking the ramp, Sonam got emotional remembering the late designer, reminding everyone of his genius. Praising him on Instagram, she wrote, “An honour to walk in tribute to the legendary Rohit Bal at @fdciofficial x @blenderspridefashiontour. His artistry, vision, and legacy have shaped Indian fashion in ways beyond measure. Stepping onto the runway in his memory was both emotional and inspiring…celebrating a designer who was, and always will be, an icon. #RohitBal #LegendaryLegacy #FDCIxBlendersPrideFashionTour.”
The event was special for more reasons than one. In her Instagram stories, Sonam revealed that the outfit she wore in tribute was made for her more than a decade ago. Sharing a picture, she wrote, “Something Gudda made for me almost 15 years ago for my cousin brother’s wedding. So happy I could wear it again yesterday.”
Before this, Sonam was in Paris as a brand ambassador for Dior where she displayed two standout looks. The first was in a monochrome fluid sheer dress from Dior’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, paired with a faux fur coat from the couture house’s Resort 2025 collection. Her accessories turned heads, and she looked elegant with her hair styled in a bun adorned with stunning hairpieces.
Her second look was a smart knitted sweater and skirt ensemble, paired with white boots and a Piaget watch. She layered it with a matching jacket embellished with floral details, adding extra glam with sunglasses and well-defined makeup.
With Sonam making head-turning appearances, it remains to be seen what she has in store for fans on the fashion front in the coming months.
