Nita Ambani is known for showcasing her love for heritage artistry and modern detailing on a global stage. It comes as no surprise that her outfits are curated not only to reflect her personal taste but also to suit the occasions she attends. A recent special dinner held in honour of President-Elect Donald Trump was no exception.
For the event, Mrs Ambani wore a Jamewar saree designed by Tarun Tahiliani. In an Instagram post, the designer revealed that the ensemble was “crafted over 1900 hours”. The post further detailed how the saree carried both traditional and modern elements, embodying the designer’s signature style. Featuring a modern tapered collared blouse, the saree incorporated classic aari work with intricate French knots.
A part of the post read: “To achieve its flawless drape and texture, craftsmen embroidered heritage jamewar shawls, which were then meticulously hand-painted, printed, and further embroidered. The result is a refined interplay of heritage artistry and modern tailoring.”
Nita Ambani complemented the outfit with accessories that accentuated the elegance of the Indian ensemble. Her pearl earrings and a beaded bangle looked truly unique. She added a bindi for a traditional Indian touch, while her hair and makeup elevated her regal appearance.
Prior to this, for a private reception ahead of President-Elect Donald Trump’s swearing-in ceremony, Mrs Ambani opted for a stunning Kanchipuram silk saree by Swadesh. The saree featured over “100 traditional motifs inspired by the temples of Kanchipuram,” paired with a classic velvet blouse to give it a modern edge.
Designer Manish Malhotra posted the pictures of the look on his Instagram account, emphasising significance of the accompanying jewellery. He added, “She (Nita Ambani) completed her look with a rare 200-year-old Indian pendant—a parrot-shaped piece decorated with emeralds, rubies, diamonds, and pearls, made using the Kundan technique with red and green enamel.”
Both the designers credited Mrs Ambani for celebrating Indian heritage, artisans, and craftsmanship on a global platform. Her poise and grace in Indian ensembles are truly unparalleled, making these couture creations uniquely her own.
