Navratri is here, and as per rituals, the festival begins with wearing white, a colour that stands for peace, purity, and innocence. Actress Vidya Balan took to Instagram to wish fans and shared stunning new pictures in a classic ivory and gold Kasavu saree paired with matching jewellery.

In August this year, the actress, who was part of successful films like Parineeta, Paa, and The Dirty Picture, had revealed to a film magazine that she was asked to lose weight to get roles. “Before Kismat Konnection, someone said, ‘Shahid is younger. You’ll have to lose weight.’” The pressure to shed extra kilos took a toll on Vidya, she mentioned in the interview, and added that she was going through a phase where she “was training like crazy, barely eating.”
Vidya’s styling beautifully complemented her attire. Her hair was neatly pulled back, while her makeup in red tones added a pop of colour. Red lipstick, flushed cheeks, and a tiny bindi completed the look.
