The 74th edition of the Miss Universe competition is only a few days away, and Manika Vishwakarma, who hails from Rajasthan, is already making waves with her participation. She recently attended the Miss Universe Gala Dinner held at Kora Beach Resort in Phuket, along with other contestants, and stole the show in a sheer dress, a last-minute choice she made.

The plot twist was shared by Adam Genato, who posted a video on Instagram with the caption: “Did you know Miss India’s gown was a last-minute choice? The see-through dress on her was a refreshing choice.”

And indeed, Manika looked nothing short of a stunner in the glittering beaded gown that fit her beautifully. It was sheer, backless, and sparkling, making it an instant hit with the audience.

Manika’s high-shine makeup elevated the glamorous dress: her faux lashes, glittering gold eyes, hints of pink and gold on her cheeks, and pink lips made her look nothing short of a diva. Her hair was styled in a sleek bun that complemented the chic vibe of the evening.

Internet reacts to Manika’s last-minute outfit choice

The internet couldn’t help but notice her confidence and charm, as well as the way she introduced herself to everyone.

A user wrote, “She's so wise to analyse the situation and quickly change accordingly… After all, she's Miss India.”

Another said, “If this is a last-minute change because earlier she was seen in a gold-black gown, then the pressure is handled very well by Manika. She should be the top performer because the dress doesn't define her performance — it is commendable to manage such situations well.”

A third commented, “She carries everything gracefully.”

Who is Manika Vishwakarma?

Twenty-two-year-old Manika Vishwakarma was crowned Miss Universe India 2025 on August 18, 2025, in Jaipur.
