Kangana Ranaut’s sartorial choices have always been impressive. From top international labels to renowned Indian designers, she has worn creations that reflect her personality and style. That is why the actress, who is a true pahadi at heart, finds joy in sporting pieces that are local and traditional.
Kangana recently shared pictures on Instagram, where she sported a beautiful traditional Ladakhi Goncha in vibrant hues. For the unversed, the actress explained in her stories, “Goncha can look more beautiful than international gowns or branded dresses. We must promote our local traditional attires. India has so much to offer. We must recognise that #vocalforlocal.”
And indeed, many Internet users praised the actress not only for her top-notch style but also for familiarising them with the traditional ensemble.
One user wrote, “So good to see you bringing traditional fashion to the fore…haven’t seen any celebrity wear this beautiful attire from Ladakh. You look so royal in this.” Another fan commented, “Who needs a runway when Kangana turns every place into a fashion moment?! This look is next level gorgeous.”
Kangana sported the outfit with brown boots and styled her hair in a bun as she posed outside her Manali café, set to open on February 14. Her passion project embodies mountain culture, colours, and aesthetics.
Earlier this year, Kangana was busy with the promotional tour of her film, Emergency, where she sported the traditional six-yard drape in different styles. For the screening of her film, she wore a purple saree with gold and pink detailing, featuring traditional motifs. Her pink potli bag complemented the saree beautifully, as did her stunning earrings.
Another appearance in a Rimple and Harpreet saree was all kinds of dreamy. The lush fabric with delicate floral details was draped to perfection, paired with an embroidered black blouse. She accessorised it with a chunky choker and earrings.
Finally, she wore a Kanjeevaram saree with a creamy base and a rich gold-red border, paired with a lightly embellished blouse. The actress’ jewellery elevated the traditional South Indian look and set her apart.
