Janhvi Kapoor, who was last seen in Telugu film Devara as Thangam, is back in action after her New Year’s break. The actress posted gorgeous black-and-white pictures from a photoshoot that has left the internet wanting more.
For the shoot, Janhvi took a departure from ethnic wear and embraced retro glam in a white Dolce & Gabbana top with teardrop embroidery, paired with a matching pencil skirt. The feminine look was accessorised with D&G earrings and completed with a messy hair bun and dewy, soft make-up.
After Kangana Ranaut and Kiara Alia Advani’s recent appearances in stylish white outfits for their film promotions, Janhvi’s gorgeous white outfit further signals dominance of neutral tones this season. From western wear to ethnic outfits and Indo-Western styles, neutral shades are taking over.
While Janhvi’s retro look was feminine and sensual, her sister Khushi Kapoor has been posting pictures showcasing a contrasting, vibrant take on old-school style.
Khushi shared photos on Instagram wearing a floral Barbie-pink dress paired with a multicoloured hairband and chunky gold-and-pink earrings. Her curls and winged eyeline give signature retro vibe. In another picture, she wore an off-shoulder dress, complemented with matching bow and earrings.
Khushi also rocked a unicorn-inspired look, posing in a pink sweatshirt layered with a lavender jacket, topped off with a beanie cap and winter earmuffs.
Retro glam seems to be a favourite with the celebrities. Besides Janhvi and Khushi, Kangana Ranaut, Sonam Kapoor, Shalini Passi are big on experimenting with vintage styles.
Kangana was seen sporting tweed top-and-skirt coordinates with a vintage high ponytail during her Bigg Boss appearance to promote her upcoming film, Emergency.
Sonam Kapoor played with saffron body ornament and khadi skirt along with emerald jewellery, serving a classic Indian retro look. Her naturally wavy hair failing at the back added to the vintage charm.
Finally, Shalini Passi’s animal-print soirée was accompanied by retro-style forehead bangs and a high ponytail, which served as a reminder of all things classic.
