They come in handy when you’re feeling low or struggling to keep up with the fast pace of life.

Happy Birthday Deepika Padukone

As the actress turns 40 today, here are five dialogues that offer timeless wisdom…

“Jitna bhi try karo, life mein kuch na kuch toh chhotega hi…”

This one’s quite a classic dialogue from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. While Bunny (Ranbir Kapoor) tells Naina (Deepika Padukone) how he wishes to quickly tick off everything on his bucket list, Naina asks him to live in the moment and enjoy the beauty of the place they’re in. She says, “Jitna bhi try karo, life mein kuch na kuch toh chhootega hi…” (No matter how much you try, you’d miss something or the other in life).

“Besharam badtameez khudgarz hota hai, par pyaar toh aisa hi hota hai”

This quote from Ram Leela is for lovers who are deeply and passionately in love. In one of the scenes, Leela (Deepika) tells Raseela Bhabhi (Richa Chadha) that she’s going to spend her suhaag raat with Ram (Ranveer Singh) even if her mother marries her off to someone else. While Raseela calls her shameless for saying so, Leela tells her, “Besharam, badtameez, khudgarz hota hai, par pyaar toh aisa hi hota hai.” (It’s shameless, rude, and selfish, but that’s what love is like.)

“Adhoori mulaqat hi toh phir se milne ka vaada hota hai…”

Deepika Padukone won hearts as Mastani in Bajirao Mastani. In one of the scenes, she tells Bajirao (Ranveer Singh), “Adhoori mulaqat hi toh phir se milne ka vaada hota hai.” (An incomplete rendezvous is the promise of meeting again.) This dialogue offers hope to lovers who have to bear the pain of separation until they can reunite again.

"Kuch waqt do sab theek ho jayega”

Yet another classic dialogue from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Deepika’s advice as Naina remains timeless, as time is said to be the greatest healer. Whatever challenge or emotional crisis you are facing today will get better as time passes. What you need is patience and trust for things to align.

"Ek age ke baad parents apne aap zinda nahi reh paate. Unko zinda rakhna padta hai. Aur woh zimmedaari bachhon ka hi hai”

This dialogue from Pikuremains relevant, as it highlights the circle of life. While parents raise children when they are young, they become the responsibility of their children as they grow old. This is said by Deepika Padukone, who played the titular role in the film, when Rana (Irrfan Khan) mockingly calls Piku a mother to her own father.
