Some even include collagen for a subtle plumping effect. “Gloss is ideal for a fresh, youthful look and works beautifully with a lip liner for added definition,” Goradia says.

• Matte magic: Matte lipsticks are all about bold colour and a velvety finish. Unlike older formulas that felt drying, today’s versions include butters and oils to keep lips soft. “Matte is perfect for those who want long-lasting colour with a polished look,” she says.

• The pH-changing tints: These clever lipsticks react to your body’s pH levels, creating a shade that’s unique to you, usually soft pinks or berry tones. They offer a sheer, balm-like feel with subtle staining power. “pH tints are great for everyday wear and require minimal effort,” Goradia says.
