For decades, the red carpet fashion was all about tux and ball gowns, but the recently held 2026 Oscars proved that even the most classic attire can benefit from a small but striking detail. For the globally known actresses and icons, diamonds in shades of green, blue, yellow, and champagne appeared on the red carpet in the form of danglers, rings and necklaces. On the other hand, the league of gentlemen did not waver in their devotion to the sparkling brooch.

From diamond-studded birds to sculptural florals, the brooch emerged as one of the most sophisticated accessories for Hollywood’s leading men. Although, have been worn by aristocrats and dignitaries for centuries, the resurgence in modern menswear felt fresh because it introduced individuality into otherwise uniform formalwear. At the 2026 Academy Awards, many of the brooches seen on the red carpet were subtle yet sparkling — carefully placed accents that caught the light without overwhelming the overall look.
Some memorable brooches were seen on actor Hudson Williams, who wore a bedazzled serpent from Bvlgari wrapped elegantly across the lapel, adding a hint of mystique to his ensemble. Whereas, actor Channing Tatum leaned into the high jewellery territory with a Tiffany & Co. bird-shaped brooch featuring more than 22 carats of diamonds. Actor Kieran Culkin stood out by choosing a yellow gold brooch that contrasted beautifully against his brown jacket, and got praised for his bold choice.
Hollywood divas were spotted flashing gems worth millions of dollars, ranging from exceedingly rare sapphires to high-carat diamonds. Actress Anne Hathaway reportedly looked stunning in Bvlgari's Neoclassical Starlight high jewelry necklace, which weighed over 35 carats, and Kate Hudson reportedly wore over 41 carats of rare green diamonds, valued at $35 million by Garatti. Additionally, Kylie Jenne wore rings, earrings, and a necklace made of almost 200 carats of Lorraine Schwartz diamonds.

According to jewellery watchers, the red carpet moments continue to reinforce diamonds as enduring symbols of glamour, while also evolving to align with more contemporary, design-led sensibilities. While the outfits on the red carpet were mostly inspired by old-school vintage designs and quite luxury aesthetic, the jewellery was all the way maximalist. Neil Sonawala, MD at Zen Diamond India, points out, “The Oscars this year showcased a strong presence of bold, statement diamond pieces, with jewellery clearly taking centre stage rather than playing a supporting role. We saw contemporary diamond designs seamlessly paired with formalwear, reflecting a shift towards styling jewellery as an integral part of the overall look. Classic solitaires were also reinterpreted in modern ways - through drop earrings, stacked rings, and layered compositions, highlighting a growing preference for versatility and personal expression.” The trend of diamond layering, in particular, stood out, adding depth and dimension to otherwise minimal silhouettes.
