It is hard to ignore the internet and Gen Z’s fixation with Labubu plush toys, fictional elf-like creatures with a row of jagged teeth. They have been flying off shelves and continue to be widely discussed.
While the originals are expensive, there are now plenty of knock-offs available due to high demand, with some priced as cheap as a few hundred rupees. That gets us to Ananya Panday, who, in a video with her friend Orry, admitted she is carrying a fake Labubu and shared the story behind it.
Ananya said, “My friend Ridhima was trying to start a Labubu business and she ordered hundreds of them, but she got the Lafufus.” Pointing at the doll on her bag, Orry asked, “Ananya, is this fake?” To this, she replied, “It is! But it's on a Chanel bag, so no one will ever know.”
\Her candid confession impressed fans, who couldn’t stop admiring her ‘care-a-damn’ attitude. One wrote, “At least she’s honest.” Another commented, “Buy Lafufu, it’s Indian. Labubu is Chinese.” A third added, “Hahaha… she is so chill about it… loved it.”
Meanwhile, Ananya has had a busy year filming her movies and fulfilling brand commitments. The actress made headlines after being signed as Chanel’s Global Brand Ambassador for India and later attended their stunning Cruise show in Italy, wearing a variety of luxurious outfits from the brand.
Ananya, who was last seen in Kesari Chapter 2 alongside Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan, has been shooting for Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri with Kartik Aaryan. They have already filmed in two locations, including Croatia and Rajasthan. She also has another upcoming project titled Chand Mera Dil with Lakshya.
Amid her busy schedule, Ananya also found time to attend a friend’s wedding festivities in Greece, where she enjoyed delectable desserts, endless parties and more, all in style.
