Fashion inspired by AI and tech is the latest fad; here’s how to include it in your wardrobe

Fashion is no longer just inspired by culture and craft but it’s now inspired by code. You don’t have to be a sci-fi buff to enjoy it. With the right pieces, anyone can bring a little high-tech glamour into their wardrobe.

Runway looks from Falguni Shane Peacock's collection showcased at the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour

For seasons now, we’ve seen designers experiment boldly with structure, silhouette, and craft — but the newest wave sweeping through fashion is powered by something far more futuristic: artificial intelligence and cutting-edge tech. Whether it’s algorithm-generated prints or robotic elements on the runway, tech couture has moved beyond concept shows and is starting to influence what we wear to parties, weddings, and major social events.

At the recently held Blenders Pride Fashion Tour, designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacock set the tone with their show Futureverse of Fashion. The runway featured AI-generated prints, integrated dancers, humanoid figures, and even a robotic dog —  all framing a collection that looked like it stepped out of a digital dreamscape. The clothes carried an unmistakable futuristic edge: iridescent sheens, liquid-like fabrics, sculpted cutouts for women, and luminous metallic suits for men.

Tech-inspired looks

If you’re looking to try the trend yourself, you don’t need to overhaul your wardrobe. Start by creating tech-forward accents within your existing style. Sequined gowns, feathered shrugs, glossy pants, and metallic fabrics instantly nod to the AI aesthetic without feeling costume-ish. For themed parties, winter weddings, or high-profile events, mix colours like silver, burgundy, shell pink, lilac, sky blue, beige, and mauve to create a soft yet futuristic layered palette. The trick is contrast: pair a traditional silhouette with one standout high-tech piece — think a holographic blouse with a classic lehenga, or a mirror-finish jacket over tailored pants.

Statement wedding looks for men

Men’s fashion has undergone a serious upgrade, especially at weddings where grooms now want to dress with personality, not just formality. Embellished safas, kamarbandhs, drapes, crystals, and even jewellery are becoming key elements of the modern groom’s wardrobe. The mood is expressive, maximal, and confident. Designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacock note, “For men, experimenting with colours across different functions is a simple way to stand out. A perfectly tailored fit is essential, and adding one strong accessory — whether it’s a statement brooch, saffa, or a unique pocket detail —  can instantly make the outfit pop.”

If you’re leaning toward a tech-inspired look, consider metallic embroidery, chrome buttons, or subtle iridescent fabrics that catch light beautifully in nighttime functions. These small details bring a touch of the future without overwhelming the outfit.

Wedding looks for women

For brides and wedding guests, the new direction is all about lightness, movement, and shimmer — the kind of outfits that look ethereal but feel comfortable enough to dance in. The designer duo explains, “For women, a few key pieces can instantly elevate a wedding-party look. A feather shrug is a great investment as most weddings fall in the cooler months, and it adds both comfort and a standout statement. Choosing the right colour is equally important; the moment you walk into a room, it’s the colour that speaks first. And finally, great hair and makeup — nothing too transformed, just an elevated version of you makes a huge difference.”

To give your look a tech-fashion twist, try liquid metallic drapes, crystal-studded blouses, or subtle holographic embellishments. These elements feel modern yet glamorous, perfect for the fashion-forward Indian woman who wants to make a statement without shouting.
