UPSC NDA 2 Notification 2025 Out: Registration begins for 406 vacancies, apply by June 17

UPSC has released NDA 2 Notification 2025. Registration for 406 posts in Army, Navy, and Air Force is open till 17 June.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination (II) 2025. The online application process has started at upsconline.nic.in and will continue until 17 June 2025 (11:59 pm). Interested and eligible candidates can visit the official website to apply.

The NDA 2 exam is scheduled to take place on 14 September 2025. Through this examination, a total of 406 vacancies will be filled for various positions in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force.

Vacancy Details

Here is the breakdown of the available vacancies:

  • Army: 208 posts (including 10 for women)
  • Navy: 42 posts (including 5 for women)
  • Air Force (Flying Branch): 92 posts (including 2 for women)
  • Air Force Ground Duty (Technical): 18 posts (including 2 for women)
  • Air Force Ground Duty (Non-Technical): 10 posts (including 2 for women)
  • Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme): 36 posts (including 4 for women)

Who Can Apply?

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be unmarried, male or female
  • Must have passed Class 12
  • Age should be between 16.5 to 19.5 years

Only online applications will be accepted through upsconline.nic.in

Those interested in joining the Army, Navy or Air Force through NDA can apply for this exam, which will lead to the 156th NDA Course and the 118th Naval Academy Course (INAC), both starting on 1 July 2026.

Application Fee

  • General/OBC candidates: Rs 100
  • SC/ST/female candidates/wards of JCOs, NCOs, ORs: Exempted

Payment can be made by cash at SBI branches or through online modes.

Selection Process

The recruitment process includes two stages:

  • Written Examination – Conducted by UPSC
  • SSB Interview – Conducted by the Services Selection Board

The SSB interview is a five-day process that tests the candidate's personality, intelligence and aptitude. Those who clear both stages will undergo training at the National Defence Academy or Naval Academy. On completion, they will be commissioned as:

  • Lieutenant in the Indian Army
  • Sub-Lieutenant in the Indian Navy
  • Flying Officer in the Indian Air Force
