The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced a re-examination for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2025 exam for candidates affected by the recent Mumbai fire incident. According to a public notice, the SSC CGL re-exam will be conducted on October 14, 2025.

Te Commission will release the tentative answer key for the SSC CGL 2025 examination on October 15, 2025. The official notice detailing the re-exam is now available for candidates to view on the SSC's website, ssc.gov.in.

The decision to hold a re-test comes as a relief to candidates whose initial exam on September 26, 2025, was disrupted due to a fire incident at a centre in Mumbai. The SSC has confirmed that the examination process for all other centres across the country has been successfully completed. The massive recruitment drive saw an enormous response, with approximately 28 lakh applicants. Of these, around 13.5 lakh candidates appeared for the exam, which was conducted over 15 days, 45 shifts, and across 255 centres in 126 cities.

Answer Key and Challenge Window Details

Alongside the key, the Commission will open a dedicated objection window. Candidates who wish to challenge any answer can submit their representations online during this stipulated period.

However, candidates should note the following key points:

  • A fee of Rs 100 per question challenged will be applicable.
  • This fee is non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of the challenge.

The decision of the SSC on the challenges will be considered final.

The final answer keys, which will be used to evaluate the Computer-Based Examination (CBE) results, will be uploaded to the SSC website only after the final results are declared.
