Selection ProcessThe selection process for RRB NTPC 2025 will be carried out in multiple stages to ensure a fair and thorough assessment of candidates. It begins with a computer-based test known as CBT-1, which serves as a preliminary screening. This test comprises 100 questions spread across three subjects: General Awareness (40 questions), Mathematics (30 questions), and General Intelligence and Reasoning (30 questions). Candidates will have 90 minutes to complete the test.
Those who qualify in CBT-1 will move on to CBT-2, which is tailored to the specific post applied for. CBT-2 includes 120 questions, with 50 from General Awareness, 35 from Mathematics, and 35 from General Intelligence and Reasoning. Like the first stage, this test also has a duration of 90 minutes. It is important to note that both CBTs carry a penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer, so candidates should answer carefully.
Depending on the post, candidates may also be required to take skill-based assessments such as typing or aptitude tests. After these stages, shortlisted applicants will be called for document verification to confirm their eligibility. The final step involves a medical examination to ensure candidates meet the required health standards for railway service.
The notification was issued on 23 September 2025. The application window is expected to open between October and November 2025. The last date to apply is likely to fall in November or December 2025.
