In an intimate affair, Telugu actor Akhil Akkineni got married to Zainab Ravdjee on the night of June 5, 2025, ushering in a new beginning and latest addition in the Akkineni family. The hush-hush ceremony was solemnised at 3:35 am amid Vedic hymns and tradition at their bungalow located at Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.

The news was announced by Nagarjuna Akkineni himself who took to social media to share a heartfelt note: “With all the love & blessings, Amala & I are happy to share that our son has married his b beloved Zainab and a beautiful shanti process was held yesterday we felt immense love and joy we were blessed by the togetherness of love and of those that we love selfless thank you for all our extended family and friends for being there with us. #love #life #manikarma.”

The wedding was based on traditional Telugu Brahmin rituals, incorporating culture, symbolism, and spiritual importance. Key rituals included Kanyadaana, the gift of the daughter (meaning who is giving away his/her daughter) as if by her father and the bride will be worshipped as a "Devi" itself or as a goddess.

Kashi Yatra is a fun, but interestingly profound, ritual in which the groom pretends to leave for Kashi, or as Krishna, only to be brought back to get married!

These customs were not only a tip of the hat to the couple’s religious beliefs, but they were also a strong link to heritage and values passed down through generations.
