Karisma Kapoor’s billionaire ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur, died of a heart attack on Friday, leaving everyone curious about his personal life. The industrialist has been married thrice, and Karisma was his second wife. He was currently married to Priya Sachdev, and very few know about his first wife.
Sunjay Kapur was first married to fashion designer and socialite Nandita Mahtani. They tied the knot in 1996 and finalised their divorce in 2000.
Meanwhile, Nandita Mahtani is a Delhi-based socialite and fashion designer. She also runs a fashion brand called Playground with him. Nandita has also been a stylist for many Bollywood celebs since 2012. She is also a stylist of Indian cricketer Virat Kohli.
Her dating is currently making headlines as she had been in a relationship with Dino Morea during the 2000s. Additionally, she also briefly went out with Ranbir Kapoor. Ranbir has also previously admitted that he was captivated by her.
Nandita got engaged to actor Vidyut Jammwal in 2017, and the duo made their relationship public on Instagram soon after that. They shared a glimpse of a dreamy proposal at the Taj Mahal. Unfortunately, Nandita and Vijay’s relationship didn’t last long.
Her brother Bharat is a businessman, whose wedding in 2010 was attended by some of the prominent Bollywood celebrities, including Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Karan Johar, Harsh Goenka and more. However, Nandita’s sister Anu is married to billionaire Sanjay Hinduja.
Sunjay Kapur was playing Polo for his team, Aureus, against Sujan, a rival team owned by hotelier Jaisal Singh, when he suffered a heart attack in London. The initial reports suggested that Sunjay accidentally swallowed a bee while riding, and a sting in his throat is believed to have triggered the heart attack.
