Singer Mangli, whose real name is Satyavathi Rathod, has recently made headlines not for her musical talent, but for being booked by the Cyberabad police. The popular playback and folk singer was among four individuals against whom a case was registered following a raid on a party held without the necessary permissions. The event, which took place at a prominent resort in Chevella, was reportedly part of Mangli's birthday celebrations.
The charges leveled against Mangli include violations of the Excise Act, Loudspeakers rule, and the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act.
Although no narcotic substances were discovered at the venue during the raid, police reports indicate that some guests tested positive for drug consumption. A substantial amount of liquor was also seized from the location.
The gathering, attended by approximately 25 guests, included several personalities from the film industry. Police have issued notices and initiated an investigation to identify the supplier of the drugs.
Officials stated that the primary reason for registering the case against the singer and her brother was the lack of prior permission from the Excise Department to serve liquor at the party.
Mangli's journey to fame began in 2013 as a guest artist on the Telugu news channel show "Dhoom Dham."
She gained significant recognition on the small screen as "Maatakari Mangli" in the news show "Teenmaar Vaarthalu."

However, her breakthrough in the music industry came with her rendition of the song "Saranga Dariya" from the film Love Story, which garnered widespread attention.
Since then, Mangli has collaborated with several renowned music directors, including Anirudh Ravichander, Gopi Sundar, Hiphop Tamizha, and Devi Sri Prasad. Her recent work includes the song "Jinguchaa," composed by AR Rahman for the film Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam and starring Kamal Haasan. She has also lent her voice to the song "Kollagottinadhiro" from the movie Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1, composed by MM Keeravani. This recent legal entanglement has cast a shadow on the accomplished singer's career, with investigations ongoing.
