Where was Saif Ali Khan's attacker hiding for 70 hours after stabbing the actor?

After a 70-hour manhunt, the police arrested Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, a 30-year-old man, early on Sunday morning in Thane, Maharashtra, for allegedly assaulting Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his Mumbai home.

Shahzad was apprehended near Hiranandani Estate in Kasarvadavali, which is around 35 kilometers from Saif's residence.

The arrest followed an intense search after the actor was attacked by the intruder who allegedly intended to rob him, resulting in severe injuries to Saif. Authorities continue to investigate the motive behind the attack.

The Mumbai Police have now disclosed the whereabouts where the accused hid after the attack on Saif Ali Khan. They revealed that the 30-year-old man, who stabbed Saif at his residence, took refuge in dense mangroves near the Reliance labour camp in Kasarvadavali, Thane. Following the crime, he traveled by train from Bandra to Dadar and then walked to his residence in Worli Koliwada. Upon seeing his image on television, he panicked and fled to Thane, where he was eventually apprehended.

Saif Ali Khan sustained several stab wounds, including injuries to his neck and near his spine, after an intruder broke into his luxurious Bandra residence and assaulted him during the early hours of Thursday.

"Investigation has revealed that he went to Saif's house with the intention of theft. It seems the accused is a Bangladeshi," Senior police officer Dixit Gedam stated during a press conference following the arrest.

"He does not have any Indian documents. Some things have been recovered from him which show that he is a Bangladeshi," he continued.

Mr. Gedam mentioned that the accused had been residing in Mumbai for the last four months, during which he adopted the name Bijoy Das. He was employed at a housekeeping company, according to the officer.

Saif Ali Khan was attacked with six stab wounds and quickly taken to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai by autorickshaw, where he underwent urgent surgery. During the five-hour operation, a 2.5-inch piece of the blade was removed from his spine.
