Hema Malini and Dharmendra met for the first time in 1970 while filming, Tum Haseen Main Jawaan. At the time Dharmendra was married to Prakash Kaur. However, Dharmendra developed feelings for Hema Malini and tied the knot with her in 1980.

Meanwhile, reports have suggested that Dharmendra married Hema Malini without divorcing his first wife, Prakash. This decision was met with controversy and criticism from the critics.

Hema Malini hides her pregnancy

Hema Malini got pregnant with her first child, Esha Deol, in 1981. However, the actress was eight months pregnant while shooting her song, Bhagi Re Bhagi Brij Bala with her husband Dharmendra.

The actress hid her pregnancy with her costume while filming the song for the film Rajput, which also stars Rajesh Khanna in the lead role. During a recent appearance at Indian Idol Season 15, Hema Malini reflected on filming the song.

She revealed that she was pregnant with Esha at the time of filming the Holi song. Hema Malini’s dedication to work shocked everyone with Shreya Ghoshal calling it “inspiring.”

Hema Malini and Dharmendra share two daughters together, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. The couple welcomed their first daughter on July 28, 1981 and Ahana in 1985.

Esha Deol is an actress and made her Bollywood debut with romantic thriller Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe in 2002. She has starred in multiple hit films including Dhoom and Dus. She faced a setback and took a hiatus from acting. However, Esha then made a return with webseries, Rudra: The Edge of Darkness (2022) and Hunter Tootega Nahi Todega (2023).

Meanwhile, Ahana Deol is an actress who made her debut in the 2002 film Na Tum Jaano Na Hum. She then took a break from acting and went on to marry Vaibhav Vohra in 2014.
