When Aamir Khan vowed to never work with 'badly behaved' Kajol

Aamir Khan and Kajol shared screen space for the first time in Indra Kumar's 1997 film Ishq. Although they were paired with Juhi Chawla and Ajay Devgn, fans love their fun banter and chemistry. However, Aamir seemingly was not happy while working with Kajol and declared he would never work with her again.

According to the Times of India, Aamir called Kajol “badly behaved" but things changed in 2006, and the duo once again co-starred in Kunal Kohli’s film, Fanaa. This time, Aamir and Kajol played a love interest. Aamir agreed to work with Kajol only because of the filmmaker, who was working with both the actors for the first time.

Kajol did not want to shoot in Kashmir

The makers of the film planned to shoot Fanaa in Kashmir, but Kajol was not on board with the idea. The shoot was later shifted to Poland, reportedly because Kajol wasn't comfortable filming there.

On the film’s 14th anniversary, the actress reflected on the journey and mentioned how fun she had while shooting in Poland. She wrote at the time on her Instagram, “I still remember Poland and how much fun we had there.”

Rishi Kapoor joked about playing Kajol’s father in Fanaa

Late veteran actor Rishi Kapoor played the role of Kajol’s father in Fanaa. However, he wanted to portray something more than just a father figure to the actress.

In a throwback interview, Rishi Kapoor admitted, “Not again! Every time I am cast with her, why do I have to play Kajol's father? I've played the romantic lead with other heroines of her generation like Tabu and Manisha Koirala. In Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi also I was her father. She had a double role in that.So technically, I've played her father three times.”

Fanaa was released in 2006 and received a decent reception from the audience. Aamir Khan portrayed a closeted terrorist, moonlighting as a tourist guide. Meanwhile, Kajol played a blind girl who is too blind to see the truth about the man she loves.

The film revolves around Zooni, played by Kajol, a visually impaired Kashmiri girl, who falls in love with a tourist guide, Rehan aka Aamir, against the advice of her friends. Rehan helps her get her eyesight back, but she remains unaware of his true identity.
