Netflix’s hit series Wednesday 2 returned with the most-awaited second season on August 4 and has already started breaking records. The film has garnered a whopping 50 million views within its first five days.
The numbers match the debut performance of Season 1 in November 2022, which garnered 341.1 million viewing hours, translating to roughly 50.1 million views, during the same period.
During the week of August 4 to August 10, Wednesday Season 2 became the most-watched title on Netflix. The Netflix series has broken the record for the highest number of countries, 91 in total, where an English-language TV title claimed the No. 1 spot.
Season 1 also registered a surge in numbers and has back to the charts. The latest streaming record has led Wednesday to become the second-most-watched English-language TV series of the week.
While both seasons opened strong, Season 1 launched all eight episodes at once, whereas Season 2 premiered with only four. The remaining episodes, set to arrive on September 3. The new set of episodes is expected to generate another major spike in viewership.
Jenna Ortega returns as Wednesday Adams in the sequel, with the first instalment of the Netflix series introducing a new mystery at Nevermore Academy alongside the titular character.

Wednesday investigates a cloaked stalker and a murder of crows, while also dealing with the arrival of her brother, Pugsley. She also investigates the expansion of the school's world. The season left the viewers with a cliffhanger with the reveal of the stalker's identity and the chaotic ending at Willow Hill Asylum, setting the stage for the second half.
Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 will be released on September 3, and Netflix has just teased that the trailer of the upcoming instalment will be released today.
